Driftwood Cabana Club To Host CPC Beach Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser

Driftwood Cabana Club, Sea Bright, NJ To Host Benefit Beach Volleyball Tournament

Event To Raise Funds for CPC's Addiction Recovery Program

"We are thrilled to share that we are bringing back the highly successful and tremendously FUN Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, October 14, 2023! After a pandemic hiatus, we can't wait to do some "good" for CPC!" said Mike & Stacey Warshauer and Brian & Chris Torcivia, event co-chairs.

CPC is grateful to the Warshauers & Torcivias for their dedication of time and energy in planning this event and generating participation from our community. Together with generous host and event sponsor, Bill Stavola of Driftwood Cabana Club, the day promises good fun & friendship while raising money for CPC's Addiction Recovery Program.

The opioid epidemic is prevalent in all communities--and Monmouth County is not immune. As anyone familiar knows: addiction does not discriminate and it affects all geographies, age groups, genders, and backgrounds.

"It's an opportunity to come together for a good cause and actively "do something" about this tremendous issue which is so prevalent in New Jersey and beyond----let's raise funds, raise awareness, and save lives" said Mike Warshauer who is responsible for establishing the event in 2017.

Event sponsor and host, Bill Stavola also poignantly commented during the recent kick-off planning meeting, "The opioid epidemic is like a raging fire in our community, and I can't just sit by and watch it burn. We all have to do something."

CPC hopes you will join them and as Bill said, "do something" to help save and change lives in our local community.

With the consent of the family, or person impacted, volleyball teams are welcomed to participate in honor or memory, of someone they know who has walked this road. One of our first team sign-ups this year, "Team Pat" will be designing their own team t-shirts in honor of a life taken way too soon. Pat's story involved a fall from a ladder on a construction worksite, followed by an opioid prescription for pain management which set in motion a terrible decline resulting in a painful addiction and accidental overdose.

Teams do not have to play in honor of someone but are welcome to do so. Teams can coordinate their own players and have a terrific time raising money for an impactful cause. To discuss sponsorships, team sign-ups or event logistics, please contact CPC's Lynn Lucarelli, Chief Development Officer: llucarelli@cpcih.org or Mike Warshauer at mike@warshauer.com.
